Tree Service in Cave Creek, AZ
Light-handed, certified care for Cave Creek's native desert trees and rugged lots.
Cave Creek is desert country with a Western heart. Large lots, horse properties, winding dirt drives, washes, boulders and saguaro forests define the landscape. Trees here are often native, often old, and often on land that is not easy to reach with equipment. Caring for them takes respect for the desert and the skill to work safely on rugged ground.

Caring for Native Desert Trees in Cave Creek
Protected Native Plants
Cave Creek’s landscape is full of native plants, and some species are protected under the Arizona Native Plant Law. Depending on the plant and the property, removal can require notice or permits. The Town of Cave Creek may also have its own rules for desert preservation. We will tell you what applies before any removal begins.
Deadwood and Desert Decline
Native trees naturally carry some deadwood, but too much becomes a hazard near homes and paths. Heavy deadwood can also be a sign of drought stress or pests. Selective removal keeps the tree healthier and safer.
Fire Awareness
On large desert lots, dead trees and heavy brush near structures can be a concern. We can help thin and remove dead material near your home as part of overall property maintenance.
Monsoon Winds
Exposed ridges and open terrain mean trees take the full force of storm winds. Thinning dense canopies reduces the risk of limb failure.
Tree Services for Cave Creek Properties
Desert Tree Pruning
Palo verde, mesquite and ironwood need a different approach from irrigated shade trees. We prune lightly and selectively, removing deadwood, crossing branches and weak limbs while keeping the tree’s natural form. We never top trees.
Tree Removal
We remove dead, hazardous and unwanted trees, including trees near homes, barns, arenas and driveways.
Crane-Assisted Removal
On rugged lots with boulders, washes and steep grades, a crane can lift a tree out in sections without tearing up the desert or damaging structures.
Clearance Pruning
We keep driveways, gates and arenas clear for trucks, trailers and horses, and remove dead limbs over pastures and paths.
Stump Grinding
We grind stumps below grade and clean up afterward.
Storm Cleanup
Monsoon storms in the foothills can bring powerful winds and heavy rain. We clear fallen trees and make damaged trees safe.
Arborist Consultations
An ISA Certified Arborist can assess tree health and risk and advise on whether a tree can be saved.
Randy was good at explaining what he saw about the health of our trees and course of action. He also volunteered tips how to take care of some other trees on our property.
We had the bio-boost treatment to help a struggling ash tree and to also boost some orange trees that we planted last year. He was also a good natured and helpful person also volunteering some tips about care of our orange trees. The bio-boost is injected into the ground with a probe. Note: it may result in puncturing underground irrigation if unlucky. The probe poked a clean hole into our in-ground PVC irrigation lateral that I paid someone to come repair.
Another crew came to trim dead branches from our large tree and remove some stumps with a grinder. I thought they would just grind and leave holes. I was pleased that they cleaned up the debris, filled the holes, and covered with the surrounding gravel. Where there had been stumps, I could hardly tell there had been anything there before at all. Will was the crew's lead person who spoke with me during their time in our yard. I also found him to be good at explaining and I felt like he actually did care about the quality of work being done. I hope that Heartwood will reward him and the others who came with him.
