What our Certified Arborists Provide
- ANSI and ISA standards for quality and safety
- Specialized prescription pruning for healthy trees
- Trimming to mitigate risk and enhance trees' natural beauty
What We Do
We do not trim trees on autopilot. Each tree gets a prescription based on its species, age, condition, location, and your goals, then we prune to that prescription and nothing more.
- Specialized prescription pruning for healthy trees. Our arborist determines exactly which cuts the tree needs, whether that is crown cleaning, structural pruning for young trees, canopy raising for clearance, or selective thinning for wind resistance.
- ANSI and ISA standards for quality and safety. We make proper cuts at the branch collar, never top trees, and never strip interior growth. These standards exist because they keep trees healthy and safe.
- Trimming to mitigate risk. We remove dead, diseased, cracked, and crossing limbs and reduce weight on overextended branches before they become a hazard to your roof, vehicles, or family.
- Trimming to enhance natural beauty. Good pruning respects the natural form of the species, so your mesquite still looks like a mesquite and your ficus stays full and shapely.
- Palm trimming and cleanup. We skin and trim palms, remove seed pods and dead fronds, and haul away all debris so your property is clean when we leave.
We recommend a seasonal schedule for most trees and are happy to set one up so your property never falls behind.
Both the assessment by Randy (arborist) and the actual services were pleasing experiences.
Randy was good at explaining what he saw about the health of our trees and course of action. He also volunteered tips how to take care of some other trees on our property.
We had the bio-boost treatment to help a struggling ash tree and to also boost some orange trees that we planted last year. He was also a good natured and helpful person also volunteering some tips about care of our orange trees. The bio-boost is injected into the ground with a probe. Note: it may result in puncturing underground irrigation if unlucky. The probe poked a clean hole into our in-ground PVC irrigation lateral that I paid someone to come repair.
Another crew came to trim dead branches from our large tree and remove some stumps with a grinder. I thought they would just grind and leave holes. I was pleased that they cleaned up the debris, filled the holes, and covered with the surrounding gravel. Where there had been stumps, I could hardly tell there had been anything there before at all. Will was the crew's lead person who spoke with me during their time in our yard. I also found him to be good at explaining and I felt like he actually did care about the quality of work being done. I hope that Heartwood will reward him and the others who came with him.

We have used Heartwood over the past years for numerous services. They are on time, do a thorough job, clean up my whole yard, are friendly and on time. Years ago they cut down our massive beloved pine tree that was dying. They were not only professional but it was fun to watch how the crew worked together and they truly enjoyed their work. Over the years all my friends and family have used Heartwood for their tree needs. We will never use anyone else.
Fantastic service by a great crew! Thanks, Will and the "A" team
We had a large ash tree in the corner of our backyard that was healthy and happy, but unfortunately had been planted too close to the neighboring properties, so large roots were getting close to a pool. I discussed our options at length with Randy, who was very helpful in walking through the advantages and disadvantages of options. The work (removal) was done well, with excellent cleanup and followup.
Had another great experience working with Heartwood on a project to remove some oleanders at my home. Randy did an excellent job assembling the bid. Brittani did a great job of communicating project related news. Day of the job, Randy and Casey arrived on time, did a fantastic job with the removal and left the site clean as a whistle. This was the second time I've used Heartwood and I'm very satisfied with the outcome. If you need to remove some trees, make Heartwood your first call.
