Tree Service in Fountain Hills, AZ
Hillside and crane-assisted tree work for Fountain Hills, led by an ISA Certified Arborist.
Fountain Hills is built into the hills, and that changes everything about tree work. Homes sit on slopes, driveways climb steeply, backyards drop away toward washes, and many lots have little or no level ground for equipment. Add the McDowell Mountains on one side, the Verde River valley on the other and plenty of native Sonoran Desert landscaping, and you have a community where tree care requires planning, not just a chainsaw.

Trees and Conditions in Fountain Hills
Native Desert Trees
Palo verde, mesquite and ironwood are everywhere in Fountain Hills. They are well adapted, but they still need deadwood removal and careful thinning. Some native plants are protected under the Arizona Native Plant Law, and the Town has its own hillside and landscaping rules in some areas. We will let you know what applies before removal.
Rocky, Shallow Soils
Many lots have thin soil over rock. Trees in these conditions may root shallowly, which can make them more prone to tipping in high winds, especially if they have been heavily irrigated.
View Corridors
Views of Four Peaks, the McDowells and the fountain are part of why people live here. Selective thinning and crown raising can open views without hurting trees.
Ornamental Trees on Irrigation
Some lots have non-native ornamental and shade trees that grow large on irrigation and need regular pruning to stay safe on exposed sites.

Randy was good at explaining what he saw about the health of our trees and course of action. He also volunteered tips how to take care of some other trees on our property.
We had the bio-boost treatment to help a struggling ash tree and to also boost some orange trees that we planted last year. He was also a good natured and helpful person also volunteering some tips about care of our orange trees. The bio-boost is injected into the ground with a probe. Note: it may result in puncturing underground irrigation if unlucky. The probe poked a clean hole into our in-ground PVC irrigation lateral that I paid someone to come repair.
Another crew came to trim dead branches from our large tree and remove some stumps with a grinder. I thought they would just grind and leave holes. I was pleased that they cleaned up the debris, filled the holes, and covered with the surrounding gravel. Where there had been stumps, I could hardly tell there had been anything there before at all. Will was the crew's lead person who spoke with me during their time in our yard. I also found him to be good at explaining and I felt like he actually did care about the quality of work being done. I hope that Heartwood will reward him and the others who came with him.
